Summary of Position: 

The Inserter Operator I is responsible for setting up and operating equipment needed to fold, match and insert multiple pieces of printed material into an envelope while maintaining high quality work in a high volume fast-paced environment.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set up inserting equipment at the beginning of each job according to specifications provided on the job ticket.
  • Safely and efficiently operate the equipment.
  • Recognizes when the output is not meeting job specification. Quality at the source
  • Troubleshoots equipment problems and makes necessary adjustments
  • Communicates well with management and co-workers.
  • Completes all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
  • Accurately tracks time on each job.
  • Notifies Production Supervisor of any quality issues, spoilage or reprints that are required.
  • Follows all standard operating procedures and instructions relevant to the job, position and department accurately.
  • Ability to maintain published equipment throughput
  • Ability and willingness to cross-train on various inserting equipment
  • Follows established HIPAA, Compliance & Security policies & department policies, procedures, work instructions and safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent GED required
  • 2-3 years' experience in production print environment preferred but not required
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions                                                  and procedure manuals
  • Must have basic computer skills (data entry, etc.).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude preferred
