Summary of Position:

The 2nd Shift Production Manager is a leadership position responsible for supervising production employees and processes. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends process improvements. Interfaces with Client Services, IT personnel, service providers and technicians to troubleshoot and resolve any production issues when required, keeping machines running with minimal downtime.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensures effective employee relations; provides employee coaching and development; contributes to employment decisions; resolves employee issues through proper training and problem resolution.
  • Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.
  • Manages departmental performance measures and provides leadership with regular progress reports.
  • Effectively manages daily work and completion of all production jobs.
  • Attends management meetings to discuss capacity planning and workforce requirements.
  • Updates leadership on daily production activities.
  • Monitors and reports machine production rates along with downtimes, errors and issues.
  • Opens and tracks all issues in project management system in a timely manner.
  • Assists in compiling productivity reports for improvement analysis.
  • Ensures all deadlines are met in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Follows all standard operating procedures and instructions relevant to the job, position and department accurately.
  • Verifies through departmental spot checks that Standard Operating Procedures are accurately being administered and performed by the Production Staff.
  • Follows established HIPAA, Compliance & Security policies, department policies, procedures, work instructions and safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, 2 year Associate Degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years' Management or Project Management experience required. Production or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 2-3 years of progressive supervisory experience of 5 or more FTE's preferred.
  • Proven track record of leading positive productivity improvements.
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills
