The Senior Analyst, Security Operations is responsible for providing technical knowledge and expertise in providing innovative solutions to IT security, compliance and privacy. Plan, implement, upgrade, and monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information. Ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify evolving Information Security/Privacy/Data Protection "Digital Trust' requirements and risks inherent in the RedCard's current operations and in the development of new productions and services.
  • Drive security and privacy with the design and implementation of companywide privacy/data protection processes, procedures and engineering solutions
  • Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information. Review and troubleshoot alerts.
  • Conduct audit reviews and information security risk assessments as needed. Implement policy and process changes as needed. Implement plan for monitoring against compliance.
  • Develop, implement, communicate and monitor information security standards, policies, procedures and tests.
  • Lead role in all security and compliance efforts. In particular, this role will help lead in NIST certification process and ongoing maintenance and credentialing thereafter.
  • Perform risk assessments and executes tests of data processing system to ensure functioning of data processing activities and security measures.
  • Test policies and practices against SOC audits. Recommend and implement changes to ensure internal compliance to standards.
  • Adheres to documented processes and procedures
  • Follows established HIPAA, Compliance & Security policies


Education & Experience:


  • 5 years' experience in a healthcare, financial or government environment performing security engineering including: incident response, vulnerability assessment, continuous monitoring, IT analysis or 10+ years in a non-healthcare, financial or government environment performing similar duties.
  • Experience with IT security engineering including: security technology planning, implementations and operation.
  • Two year associates degree or equivalent industry training/experience.
  • Five years systems engineering or systems analyst experience in an enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a complex networking and information systems environment.
  • Five years system support of Dell servers and storage
  • Five years system support of APC power equipment
  • Two years system support of Appassure, BackupExec, ArcServe and Commvault
  • Three year system support Microsoft Windows 7 / 8 / 10
  • Five year system support Windows 2008 / 2008R2 / 2012 / 2012R2
  • In-depth knowledge of:
    • Microsoft Active Directory
    • Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013
    • Workstation security mechanisms (group policies, etc.)
    • High availability/Clustering technologies
    • RADIUS/LDAP authentication
    • Syslog/SNMP
    • Scripting (Powershell, etc)
    • Network topologies and protocols
    • Microsoft server and workstation operating systems
    • Microsoft Windows registry
    • Microsoft file systems (structure, rights, etc.)
    • Virus protection products
    • Workstation hardware platforms
  • Familiarity with:  PCI, HIPAA and other Security Compliance


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems (or equivalent) OR equivalent experience
  • Experience auditing or working with security control frameworks such as NIST 800-53.
  • Experience auditing or working with various privacy regulations or compliance requirements such as HIPAA, and Federal/State privacy laws a plus.
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification or ability to become certified during the first year of employment.
