Summary of Position: 

The Software Development Project Manager identifies and implements project management policies and leads software/web application development projects from conceptualization to launch. The Project Manager will be performing project leadership functions which includes assisting with defining the project's objectives, collaborating on scope of work from the Product/Business Analysts, Technical Architect and CTO for each piece of the project, managing quality control throughout its life cycle, acquiring resources, and coordinating the efforts of team members in order to deliver projects according to plan.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement project plans in accordance with the business and technical requirements and with the help of domain experts.

  • Create and manage work breakdown structures (WBS) to be used for future efforts.

  • Update the project plan on a daily basis, including deliverables, dependencies, assignments and outcomes.

  • Manage a multitude of concurrent project tasks throughout their full lifecycle, from business analysis through project initiation, planning, execution, control and closing.

  • Obtain approval on proposed scope and prioritization changes.

  • Keep the project team informed as to the project's purpose, background, scope, requirements, schedule, risks and important issues.

  • Maintain development calendar as well as prepare communication plan and project reports for key stakeholders to provide updates on activities and deliverables, as well as significant changes, risks and mitigation strategies.

  • Conduct stakeholder, daily prioritization and daily status meetings.

  • Develop and maintain department performance metrics. Create and suggest solutions to increase team performance, quality and execution.

  • Identify and manage overall project dependencies and ensure project deliverables stay on time and on target.

  • Identify project risks and critical paths and manage mitigation process with project team and stakeholders.

  • Follow development process and project management best practices, and drive their continuous improvement.

  • Identify, appropriately escalate, and ensure resolution of critical issues.

  • Accomplish department and organization missions by completing related tasks as needed.

  • Understand how technical issues impact the business drivers and clearly communicate this information to all stakeholders.

  • Follows established HIPAA, Compliance & Security policies.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Master's Degree and/or Project Management certification a plus
  • Working knowledge of Agile principles.
  • 3 years' experience of increasing project management responsibilities and successful project completions required. Experience specific to software development a plus
  • Ability to customize project management processes, tools, and templates as required for the project
  • The following are considered a plus; Scrum Master Certification, PMP Certification, SAF (Scaled Agile Framework) experience, experience with Jira
