Summary of Position: 

The Maintenance Assistant serves as the RedCard point of contact for all the production facility cleaning and minor maintenance repairs. Responsible for day to day activities for maintaining a clean, attractive, and orderly condition of the entire Production, Print room, Shipping/QC, & Warehouse areas, as well as grounds keeping. Conducts basic repairs and facility maintenance tasks. Performs daily duties of cleaning, dusting machines, equipment & furniture, sweeping floors and emptying trash/recycle containers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preventative maintenance, repairs and replacements
  • Observe general condition of internal & external Production facility areas; perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks (drywall patching an painting, clearing drains, change light bulbs & ballasts as needed, move furniture & hang shelving as needed)
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of designated office location:
    • Sweep, mop or vacuum building floors, floorboards, & walls
    • Dust machines, equipment, racks and table
    • Clean windows, doors, window/door frames and surfaces 
    • Gather and empty trash and recycle containers
    • Assist with break room/kitchen cleaning and trash removal
    • Perform exterior grounds keeping trash & debris pickup          
    • Collect dirty rags and mops to exchange out for clean ones with Aramark
    • Maintain an organized supply cabinet and inventory of cleaning supplies
  • Use ladders when required in work assignments
  • Seasonal: snow removal & apply salt to major walkways
  • Assist all production departments when needed
  • All other duties assigned.
  • Report to Supervisor on a regular basis, as directed
  • Follow company security policies by maintaining and monitoring a secure area; making sure doors are locked and secured at all times
  • Follows established HIPAA, Compliance & Security policies

Education and Experience:

  • High School /GED or trade school diploma preferred
  • Uses good safety habits at all times.
  • Ability to safely use power tools and equipment (saws, drills, grinders, lifts, etc.)
  • Ability to respond to off hour emergencies as needed
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems plumbing and minor construction
  • Valid driver's license & reliable transportation required
  • Professional, honest, reliable, responsible, organized, flexible, thorough, and service-oriented.
  • 1-2 years facilities experience.

Physical Factors:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, and climbing correctly and safely over long periods of time.
  • Frequently lifts or moves items over 20-50 pounds.
  • Monday thru Friday 1st shift hours.
