Summary of Position: 

The Senior Systems Engineer Global Services is responsible for installing, configuring, and managing, troubleshooting and repairing enterprise systems in a Windows Active Directory Domain. Essential areas of expertise for this position are server hardware and software, storage systems, networking, disaster recovery, and security. Strong background in enterprise desktop management is preferred.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs enterprise level system administration
  • Maintains and assists with backup and recovery
  • Implement client management technologies
  • Coordinates replacement of failed server and storage hardware
  • Monitors infrastructure performance and tunes components to maximize resource utilization
  • Assists technicians with second and third level support of client devices and applications
  • Assists with development of software packages for deployment to client devices
  • Implement and support security architecture including implementation of group policies, registry settings, anti-virus, and vendor provided patches
  • Deploys patches, software updates, and anti-virus updates to enterprise systems
  • Performs preventive and remedial maintenance of assigned components
  • Assist with the assessment of server and enterprise storage
  • Maintains accountability and inventory of infrastructure components
  • On-Call 24x7 responsibilities
  • Perform project coordination, as either a project team leader or member.  In this role the Senior Systems Engineer Global Services will perform or assist in the design, scheduling, implementation, and subsequent maintenance of a project
  • Adheres to documented processes and procedures
  • Follows established HIPAA, Compliance & Security policies

 

Education & Experience:

Required:

  • Two year associates degree or equivalent industry training/experience.
  • Five years systems engineering or systems analyst experience in an enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a complex networking and information systems environment.
  • Five years system support of Dell servers and storage
  • Five years system support of APC power equipment
  • Two years system support of Appassure, BackupExec, ArcServe and Commvault
  • Three year system support Microsoft Windows 7 / 8 / 10
  • Five year system support Windows 2008 / 2008R2 / 2012 / 2012R2
  • In-depth knowledge of:
    • Microsoft Active Directory
    • Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013
    • Workstation security mechanisms (group policies, etc.)
    • High availability/Clustering technologies
    • RADIUS/LDAP authentication
    • Syslog/SNMP
    • Scripting (Powershell, etc)
    • Network topologies and protocols
    • Microsoft server and workstation operating systems
    • Microsoft Windows registry
    • Microsoft file systems (structure, rights, etc.)
    • Virus protection products
    • Workstation hardware platforms
  • Familiarity with:
    • PCI, HIPAA and other Security Compliance

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems (or equivalent) OR equivalent experience
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification or ability to become certified during the first year of Employment.

Physical Factors & Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours as required to complete projects.
